Yelp Review Guidelines
Yelp Review Filter:
Yelp uses an automated "review filter" (you can read about the filter here) to help manage their site.. essentially, yelp uses a computer program designed to catch companies that try to game the system by paying people to write fake reviews, etc. But, sometimes real reviews get flagged by the system too. When a review is flagged, it is removed from the regular reviews and hidden at the bottom of the page under the text "not currently recommended". It's also not counted toward the total review count or overall rating for the business. If you scroll to the bottom of our yelp page, you'll see an example of a review that was filtered. A few options for things things you can do to reduce the chances of your reviews being filtered:
-review other businesses
-include a variety of ratings (1 through 5 stars)
-add a few friends on yelp
-add a photo to your yelp profile
-take other action on yelp (mark other reviews as 'useful'/'funny', send email through yelp, etc.)
