Hey friend! I'm Brad Greene, a certified professional dog trainer based in Los Altos, CA. I'm glad you're here and I hope we'll have the opportunity to work together soon.

I'll make every effort to support and encourage you while making training interesting and rewarding. You'll learn something new and enjoy the process.

Below, you'll find some more info about me and my approach to working with dogs and clients...

Training Philosophy
Picture
I use positive reinforcement based training methodologies, including clicker training, and place a high degree of emphasis on animal welfare, incorporating choice and enrichment into learners' everyday lives, while focusing on building a strong reinforcement history for desired behaviors. Technique is helpful, but only if used in the pursuit of a healthy, fulfilling relationship.

I believe that animals have rich emotional lives and that we can connect with them in ways that add beauty and depth to our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world we live in if we remain open and curious. Their lives are gifts to us and they deserve our kindness and respect. This is the foundation for my training programs.

A huge part of my focus is on the human end of the leash, coaching clients toward improved timing, clear communication, and building awarness of how their behavior impacts the dog. This means developing new skills to replace old habits that may have created the problem to begin with. Positive reinforcement also works for humans, so I want you to expeience both big and little wins that leave you excited for the next session.

It started with John
Picture
My journey into dog training was inspired by my first rescue greyhound, John. John entered my life in 2011 and over time, his majestic spirit taught me invaluable lessons about patience, empathy, and the profound bond between humans and dogs. Since then, I've dedicated myself to professionally helping dogs and their humans build strong relationships grounded in trust through positive reinforcement and science-based training methods.

Known on the track as "Junkyard John," he was a beautiful dog and an amazing companion who left an indelible mark on my heart before crossing the rainbow bridge in 2019. His legacy lives on in the ethos of Fearless Dogs. John means "God is gracious".

Meet Asher

Picture
In 2019, I adopted Asher, another stunning retired racer whose name means "blessed" or "happy" in Hebrew. He's a sweet and gentle soul and his playful antics bring me joy daily.

I'm so grateful for the chance to share life with this guy and I consider it a gift and an honor to have earned his trust. He turns 10 this year and has definitely been feeling his age more. He enjoys a good life with his dog dad, complete loads of love, high class treatment, new adventures, and an ample supply of tasty treats.

You can catch a glimpse of some of our training adventures in these short video clips. More videos are available on my YouTube channel.

From Trails to Training
Picture
Before focusing exclusively on training, I operated a professional dog hiking service, exploring Bay Area trails with canine companions.

These experiences deepened my understanding of dog behavior and reinforced the importance of patience, observation, and trust in building strong human-dog relationships.

I found it refreshing and grounding to spend time in the outdoors with animals in the midst of an ever faster moving digital age of screens, notifications, performance, and image. I realized that in contrast, I wanted to pursue a more analog lifestyle, complete with ample amounts of dirt, dog hair, and nose art on car windows.

Community
Picture
I partner with various rescue groups, including SAGE, to offer behavior support for their adopters.

I support several local veterinarians and their patients, including Adobe Animal Hospital,
Village Square Woodside Veterinary Hospital, and San Francisco SPCA Behavior Clinic.

I'm a featured "expert" co-author on wikiHow! Here's a recent wikiHow article that I co-authored:
Why Do Dogs Bark at Nothing?.

I also network with other positive reinforcement based trainers to ensure that clients have access to robust support options. This also helps to keep me learning and continually improving my skills.
